The Bedford Library Friends is a group of individuals who share a common desire to perpetuate the growth and promote interest in the Bedford Public Library. The Friends believe the Library is an educational and cultural asset to Bedford and all of North Texas. 

What do the Friends Do?

The Friends host a number of social activities throughout the year to increase public awareness of the Bedford Public Library. In addition, fundraising is an important roll of the Friends which enable the Library, to expand services by direct purchase of equipment, supplies, and materials that exceed available budgeted funds.

Your Friends membership entitles you to an invitation to all Friends events and voting privileges. 

Volunteer Opportunities

Bedford Library Friends volunteer their time in many ways, including:

  • Fundraising (The Pumpkin Patch)
  • Book Nook
  • Book Sales
  • Serving on the Friends Executive Committee

  • Hardcover and paperback books
  • Puzzles and games
  • Audio Books on CD and MP3
  • DVD’s and CD’s

** Newspapers, Magazines, Encyclopedias, VHS,  and Audio Tapes will NOT be accepted.

The Bedford Library Friends meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. (Check the Library calendar for details.) These meetings are open to all Friends members and those interested in learning more about the Friends and the Library.

Bedford Library Friends is a 501(c)(3) Organization

All monies donated and raised are used to promote and support the Bedford Public Library through special programming, new and replacement equipment and materials, and other needs that surpass allocated funds in the City budget. All donations to the Friends are tax deductible.
